5th Days of the Gottscheer Culture - The Putscherle Institute

This year, the 5th Days of Gottscheer Culture will take place, organized alternately by the Kočevje, Semič and Dolenjske Toplice municipalities.

The Putscherle Institute also participates in the organization of events, namely:

On September 24, at 8 am, in the Kočevje library, we are preparing a workshop for children about the heritage of beekeeping – Bees swarming.
On September 26, between 9 a.m. and 5.30 p.m., at the Cultural Center Kočevje, the Putscherle Institute in cooperation with the Slovenian Ethnological Society and the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the Faculty of Arts is preparing a professional-scientific conference Cultural Heritage and Landscape: Preservation, Restoration, Revitalization – Possibilities and Opportunities. We will talk about cultural heritage and landscape and look for ways to preserve and revitalize them in the Kočevje region.
26.9., at 7 p.m., in the Kočevje Library, opening of the exhibition of works by artists from Kočevje – KočevArt – on display are works of art from the beginning of the 20th century until today.
We would also like to draw your attention to the performance by Steven Scheschareg and Erik Šuler, which will take place on September 23 as part of the opening ceremony at KCK. This is the first such collaboration between an opera singer who was born in the USA but whose parents are from Kočevska and pianist Erik Šuler, who grew up in Kočevska. Steven Scheschareg and Anja Moric met in Vienna in 2018. Since then, the idea simmered that Steven should perform with Erik in his parents’ homeland. This year we are realizing this cooperation together with the municipality of Kočevje.
